Position Overview

 

We are seeking a Junior Coordinator, Development & Engagement to support the execution of Rare Brazil’s institutional development strategy. This position plays a critical role in partner engagement, data organization, donor communications, and fundraising operations. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational capabilities, and attention to detail, and is eager to contribute to the implementation of strategies that help grow and sustain Rare’s mission in Brazil.

 

This position reports to the Manager, Development & Engagement. In the manager’s absence, it reports to the Vice President, Brazil.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Development

Support fundraising and donor engagement strategies, focusing on the identification, cultivation, and tracking of funding opportunities and institutional partnerships.

· Identify and analyze institutional partnership opportunities.

· Support the preparation of fundraising materials, such as presentations and reports.

· Collect and organize data to support the development of grant proposals.

· Maintain accurate records of partner commitments using project management tools.

· Research and systematize funding opportunities from foundations, multilaterals, government sources, and individuals.

· Update funder statuses in the CRM system (Salesforce).

· Assist in managing institutional partnerships.

· Support the development of tailored communication materials for strategic and tactical partners.

· Support the mapping of international philanthropic agreements and public funding opportunities.

· Coordinate the execution of operational activities related to fundraising and institutional development.

 

Engagement

Contribute to volunteer program operations and partner relationship management, strengthening Rare’s stakeholder engagement efforts.

· Map volunteer engagement opportunities based on field team needs.

· Join implementation meetings to gather volunteer-related needs.

· Collect and systematize information about registered volunteers.

· Execute standard procedures for onboarding active volunteers (e.g., terms of agreement, certificates).

· Prepare and issue certificates of participation to volunteers.

· Assist in monitoring partner engagement levels (organic, reactive, active, dormant, occasional).

· Support the identification of relevant national and international events for Rare Brazil’s agenda.

· Organize institutional events and campaigns to promote stakeholder engagement.

 

 

Requirements

 

· Bachelor’s degree (any field related to communications, international relations, public administration, business, or similar).

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in partnership engagement or fundraising support roles.

· Demonstrated experience supporting the preparation of materials for partner engagement and resource mobilization.

· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

· Familiarity with SharePoint and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

· Advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Desirable: Familiarity with AI tools, knowledge of socio-environmental programs and stakeholder engagement dynamics.

 

 

Additional Notes

 

· This is a support-level position with no budgetary or policy approval authority.

· This position does not supervise Rare staff but may coordinate with external stakeholders and vendors.

· The position offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to national and international partnerships in the climate and conservation space.
