Position Overview  

Rare’s Information Technology Team is dedicated to providing efficient support to our many global offices. We are seeking someone who is tech savvy and interested in supporting our IT team with technical troubleshooting, device set-up for new-hires, as well getting a look into a technology infrastructure on an international scale.

 

This intern will work closely with our IT team to perform a security audit to identify vulnerabilities within our infrastructure. An interest in cybersecurity and cloud technologies is preferred.

 

Critical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accept support tickets, emails, messages, and calls to Tech Department and log them accordingly.
  • Forward technical support issues that cannot be addressed to the appropriate technician.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, operating system, and software problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic network and system access problems for end-users.
  • Assist with the Windows and MacBook deployment and operating system upgrades.
  • Experience troubleshooting mobile services (iPhone/Android)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Handle Tier I help desk escalations through tickets and in person.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process
  • Demote equipment and accounts as part of off-boarding process
  • Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Assist Rare Technology Team in updating Documentation hub in NinjaOne RMM.
  • Assist Rare Technology Team in Windows 11 upgrade globally.
  • Assist Rare Technology Team in audit software and systems
  • Assist Rare Technology Team in audit objects in Azure AD
  • Assist Rare Technology Team in brainstorming and adding topics to Tech Newsletter for Rare
  • Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed.

Targeted Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Technology or related fields
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, Mac OS and the Microsoft Office Suite, including troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware.
  • Accountability - Accepts responsibility and accounts for his/her actions.
  • Analytical ability - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
  • Communication - Effectiveness of both written and verbal skills, English language skills required
  • Initiative - Demonstrates resourcefulness and independence in completing duties.
  • Judgement - Evaluate circumstances, consider alternatives, and weigh pros and cons.
  • Working under pressure - Ability to maintain current workload and prioritize urgent matters requiring attention.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the workplace
