Essential Functions

  • Coordinate program implementation activities in the Paraense Salgado region, Pará, to ensure established objectives are met.
  • Assist in executing actions in two new Conservation Reserves – Filhos do Mangue and Viriandeua – by overcoming implementation challenges and resolving conflicts.
  • Implement and oversee savings clubs in the new Reserves.
  • Assist in facilitating monitoring council meetings and preparing necessary documents, including meeting minutes.
  • Provide on-site support for Rare Brazil's activities, acting as a vital liaison between analysts and local public leaders. This role includes mobilizing the Coastal500 network and supporting the implementation of SEMAS-PA activities in the municipality, highlighting the importance of teamwork and shared responsibility.
  • Support the delivery of training sessions for association leaders.
  • Coordinate logistics for events beyond the community.
  • Assist in mobilizing communities for behavior change campaigns by Rare Brazil.
  • Aid in organizing events promoted by the Program, including community mobilization, activity facilitation, reporting, and event production support.
  • Mobilize communities for activities in the new Reserves, such as council meetings, beneficiary registration, and beneficiary profiling.
  • Support in planning meetings for specific transitional plans.

 

Technical Skills

  • Technical skills in project execution, monitoring, and evaluation of environmental projects, as well as preparation of technical reports.
  • Leadership competencies include managing change, solving problems, coordinating policies, and influencing others.
  • Group facilitation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, natural resource management, or related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2 years of coordination experience, preferably in the conservation sector.
  • Fluent in Portuguese, both verbally and in writing. English proficiency is desirable.
  • Proven capability to coordinate projects from inception to conclusion, showcasing robust problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively within teams, while being attuned to diversity and intercultural dynamics.
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools, including the MS Office suite and databases.
