    About Rare

Rare is a fast-growing international conservation organization whose mission is to inspire change so people and nature thrive. With more than 170 staff operating in 10 countries, Rare advances this mission through innovative grassroots marketing strategies that boost the adoption of proven environmental solutions. Recently, Rare has been building a team that develops products and services to drive investment to natural resource management in underserved sectors.  Such products include impact investing funds, such as the Meloy Fund for Sustainable Community Fisheries, and blended finance programs working with banks, governments, and multi-lateral institutions to finance coastal fisheries management or climate-smart sustainable agriculture. Through this work Rare aims to think differently about achieving impact at scale – harnessing the private and public sectors in new, creative ways, and tapping into the expanding desire of capital markets to finance sustainability.
