    Position Overview

    A dynamic and multifaceted role, the Coordinator, Individual Giving facilitates and executes critical components of Rare’s fundraising efforts from individual donors. These activities include project managing the completion of follow-up items, supporting special fundraising teams, processing donations to Rare, coordinating and drafting donor outreach by senior executives, and other miscellaneous short-term and long-term projects.

     

    In short, this role keeps the individual giving program on track and is a critical member of the organization’s fundraising team.

     

    Discretion, efficiency, organization, flexibility and analytical skills are required to be successful in this role. The Coordinator is expected to be highly organized, diplomatic, and to have an optimistic spirit, and an appetite for working in a cross-functional, high-performing environment.

     

    Essential Functions

    The Coordinator, Individual Giving will carry out the following responsibilities:

     

    Team Coordination and Project Management

    Ensure the effective day-to-day and long-range functioning of the Individual Giving department and identify projects that affect the Development Team, the Leadership Team and the Executive Office that can drive greater efficiency in fundraising. These functions include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead processing and acknowledgment of all individual donations received by Rare
    • Assist in organizing, maintaining and analyzing Individual Giving team-wide performance data
    • Manage data entry for all individual giving activity in the CRM database (Salesforce)
    • Contribute to revenue and projection reporting best practices for Individual Giving
    • Plan and execute all Individual Giving team meetings and support broader Development & Communications team gatherings
    • Benchmark development processes and ideas against that of other organizations

     

    Support Fundraising Activities and Individual Giving Team

    Contribute to the day-to-day and long-range functions of Rare’s fundraising activities. Specific activities include, but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate, draft and manage correspondence with critical external stakeholders, including Trustees, major donors and strategic partners
    • Prepare internal briefing documents for gift officers and Rare’s Executive Team, including research, strategy notes, and other relevant information
    • Liaise with the Comunications team to execute key donor communications projects
    • Support communication with donors and Board of Trustees to keep informed of Rare’s strategic direction
    • Contribute to the success of Rare donor events, including preparation of event briefings and research regarding event participants

     

    Special Projects

    • Take leadership role in ad hoc special projects within the Development team

    Required Education and Experience

    A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years professional experience in an office environment strongly preferred.
